About Gasonic Instruments Inc.

In the early nineties while working for an industrial gas detection company, Kae Shummoogum witness the lack of service and reliable carbon monoxide monitors for the commercial buildings in downtown Calgary. Sensors were being shipped to Montreal for service, leaving parkades without protection against the silent killer.

In 1985, Gasonic Instruments was born to service the existing CO systems on site and to market a new line of equipment. Within a few years the company was servicing most of the parkades in Calgary. We expanded our service to the other hazardous gases such as Ammonia, Chlorine, Freons, Hydrogen Sulphide, Sulphur Dioxide and Methane in all types of facilities including arenas, swimming pools, universities, and research labs. We presently service over a thousand buildings in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.

In early 2000, we researched and produced a report on the maintenance and energy costs associated with different types of carbon monoxide sensors. Our presentation to property managers resulted in the upgrading of hundreds of parkade CO system. Energy savings of over a $100,000 was achieved from parkades in Calgary.

In 1995 EnviroRentals was set up to provide environment testing instruments on a rental basis to Consultants and industry for environmental assessment. A significant number of equipment can be used for Indoor Air Quality monitoring.

Gasonic Instruments has an environmental stewardship program to increase the environmental awareness of our employees, customers, suppliers and friends. We lead by example and have incorporated many ideas that reduce our environmental footprint.
